Norfolk Poll Book 1768.
Lists all the people in the whole of Norfolk who votes in the general election of 1768.
To be eligible to vote a person had to be a freeholders (land owner). The book is
divided into the hundreds of Norfolk and then the towns and villages within each.

|Hunt's Directory of East Norfolk and parts of Suffolk 1850. This is a little gem of a directory. There are directions of each place, some running to many pages, and amazing lists of private residents with their address and occupation. White's directories are always the very best and this is no exception.
Includes a tremendous amount of detail about the county, its history and current facilities of every town, village and hamlet within the county. Churches, schools, hospitals, carriers and coaches etc and of course an extremely comprehensive listing of all residents with trades. and topographical descriptions. Thoroughly indexed so very easy to use.

An excellent resource for genealogists and family historians. This very comprehensive
directory describes each place in the county of Norfolk in great detail with
information about schools, churches, hospitals and other institutions.
Each town, village and hamlet has lists of private residents and commercial traders plus there is an excellent court directory (an alphabetical list of private individuals in the county) and a classified trades directory. Ref 0322. Price £17.10

Another of the very best directories from White's.
This comprehensive directory runs to over 1000 pages with historical and geographical details of every town, village and hamlet in the county of Norfolk. Each place has its own list of inhabitants with details of their occupations and the towns and larger villages have alphabetical lists of private individuals.

Cook's Directory of Great Yarmouth 1894.
A directory for any single town or city is always an absolute gem as the attention
to detail is incredible.
This includes lists of just about everything; streets, lanes, roads, terraces and even the names of each fishing boat. There is a very comprehensive street directory with the names of each householder, classified trades and private residents directories plus descriptions of public buildings such as schools and churches as well as a general description of the town itself. |Kelly's Directory of Norfolk 1896. By this date the Kelly's directories were becoming more comprehensive, and included street directories with private residents listings for the major otwns. An excellent resource book for genealogists. Ref 0111. Price £17.10|

A wonderfully comprehensive directory. Every town, village and hamlet is described in
great detail with information about the churches, schools, hospitals and other
institutions plus important historic events.
Each place has its own lists of private residents and commercial traders. There is also a directory of private residents with the names and addresses of people across the county arranged alphabetically.
The final section contains a classified trades directory which lists all of the types of trades and the people who performed them. Ref 0710. Price £21.10

A typically comprehensive Kelly's Directory from a very interesting period of history,
being right in the middle of the Great War.
It starts with an excellent description and history of the county, with details of fairs and markets, parliamentary representation, county council officers, magistrates etc.
Following this are descriptions of every town, village and hamlet in the county of Norfolk, with lists of private residents and commercial traders in each place. The county town of Norwich also has a street by street directory of people including private individuals.
There is also a separate alphabetical list of private residents and their addresses throughout the county and a very comprehensive classified trades directory.
